Heard that you shouldn't combine the two, but see a lot of guys that do. What's the story on this should you or shouldn't you? Thanks...I'm wanting to go with a 6 inch lift what's the best advice about doing this..

They can be combined just fine in moderation. You don't want too much total lift or you will raise the COG too high and the truck will become more likely to roll. A 2" body lift and 4-6" suspension lift is usually OK. Depends on the vehicle also, a longer wider vehicle is inherently more stable

I think that there is nothing wrong with a body lift. But if you put one on you should buy it rather then making one. Don't get me wrong, home made is useally better, but if your running you truck on the street then everythings right there to get it done safely and quickly.

within moderation, I think body lifts are fine. I had one on a truck at one time and it was fine. personally , I just don't like the way they look. I think they are shunned to some degree in most 4x4 publications because their advertisers persuade them to because they would rather sell more expensive suspension lifts. from a technical standpoint, It seems that a body lift would actually effect the cog less than a suspension lift because it doesnt lift the weight of the frame or the engine. well, maybe I'm wrong, I'm no physics major.
