I recently came across a set of 2"shackles from a friend and already have 3" blocks in place has anyone used both a block set and shackle set up for lift I`m being told it`s not a good idea any inputs?

First question, do you mean they are 2" longer (hole-to-hole) than the stock shackles (1" lift) or 2" of lift (4" longer h-t-h) than stock?
Personally I'm not a big fan of using blocks to obtain lift (especially ones as big as 3"), but there are times when they're needed. I'd really be leery of using a 2"lift shackle with 3"s of block, with the increased spring wrap and body sway. But that's just me, I've seen people run a lot worse without any apparent harm.

I've ran 4" blocks with double shackles. This can cuz some spring wrap as fourwd mentioned, but I have Chevy springs which are thicker then stock one which help. Plus I run a set of orbit eyes (www.aor4x4.com/orbit-eyepoly-eye.htm) in the front of my springs which really help. All Pro Offroad also has these for a little cheaper, but they're called jonny joints (www.allprooffroad.com/johnny.html). I have not seen nor used or have seen them used so I really don't know the quality of them, but I do know that All Pro does make some good stuff.

hole to hole 2 " longer ,I`m not really worried about body roll that much average speed out here is 40 Kph about 20 Mph, but spring wrap hmmmm ::)ya see this is my d/d and see`s mostly mud and some mild to rough terrain, nothing extreme Daniel

I run 4" lift blocks on my 4runner w/chevy springs. Axle wrap has not been a problem but I do have the overloader still on. Actually I got where more axle wrap with my old stock coil set up, but that was only a problem in reverse. Eventually I will swap them out for some lift springs, but at the time witht the budget running thin, the price difference between blocks and lift springs made the choice for me. Blocks 50-70 cdn, 5" chevy lift springs 500-700 cdn.
