I want to lift my 90' 4runner. i have been looking at some bodys lifts but i still have a lot of sag in the back. in my magazine i saw some springs that said they would lift my runner an inch. do those do anything or are they not a good way to go?

several companies make replacement rear coils for the 2nd gen 4runner, I'm going to get some when the buget allows... Downy, NWOR, OME and All-Pro are the first that come to mind, there may be others

I've heard they can be stiff. I think if you are justing looking to return to stock height you might be better off with spacers which will leave you with your stock spring rate.

Ya, my dad has a runner that sags in the rear, but its a rough ride in the back as it is, so add-a-leafs wouldnt be the way to go if you wanted to maintain your ride quality, you could always go with some blocks out back, they arent the best but it wont hurt youre ride but it will boost ya up.

2nd Gen runners are known for very soft springs in the rear. This is what enduces the RSS (Runner sag syndrome) ;D I put HD custom wound coils in mine and it leveled the truck out and made the ride so much better. The coils were 30% stiffer than stock, and I actually would have prefered 50% becuase the lift coil was not as stable on the freeway, but it was a 3.25" coil and a 1.5" spacer...a 1" coil shouldnt have the body roll problems.. As a side note my runner with about 5" lift rides better than most stock rigs, espically 3rd gen runners and tacos...so I wouldnt worry about a little bit of a stiffer spring..in fact i would want it.
