How many times can I turn the torsion bar bolts to get an inch? And will that much hurt my truck in anyway? 1994 toyota pickup 4x4 with 31x10.50 BFG A/T with 15x8 eagle alloy rims. The reason for wanting to tighten the torsion bars are the front tires are scrubbing in the front.

;D If 31's are rubbing, you have problems. Have you checked the front end? Ball joints, control arm bushings...If all that's good, I'd say the T-bars are shot. It's possible you have some crazy backspacing on the wheels. I've never seen a Toy that rubbed w/31's. Later...

are they rubbing when you turn completely one way or the other ? are they making a rubbing noise or is it a Creak Creak noise .......if they are rubbing for sure then it could be the wrong backspacing of the rim , ifit's the creak, creak .... it's the steering stops......slap some grease on them...... Cranking T-bars.........make sure you lift your front end before you crank your t-bars........you can snap the adjuster bolt if you don't.......make sure your truck is on a flat surface.measure the height of your front fender's, measuring from the ground at the middle of the tire directly up to the bottom of your front fenders....this will give you a starting point/ reference point..........do it to both sides before you start to crank the bolts..... this will allow you to crank your truck up evenly.......
