Adjusting torsion bars. Yes u literally measure it with a measuring tape. No, the bars have no markers but your goin to wish that they did. Before you to anything mark the bars position on the back flat side underneith the truck where the bolt is and measure from the outside rim lip to the fender. Besure to measure from the same spots on both sides. The most that u can raise is about 2 inches. Also you must have the truck realigned. If u dont then you will go thru a set of tires fast i know from experiance.

You can get around 1.5-2" of lift. Just remember, the amount of lift you get results in the same amount of travel lost in the opposite direction (you can't get something for nothing).

how do i adjust my torsion bar on my 1990 4Runner?? please be specific, thanks alot Well, here is a link from Roger Browns website that has pics and detailed instructions for you...(and the rest of us also).. www.off-road.com/toyota/tech/torsion/index.htmPersonally, I wouldn't adjust my torsion bars too much. At least not with these stock ones. But if we all listened to what other people told us, most of us would never have never modified / customized / repaired / improved our trucks at all!!!
