I HAVE A 85 4RUNNER WITH NWOR 6IN LIFT, EXTENDED SHACKLES AND 3IN BODY WITH 35'S. I WANT TO PUT ON SKYJACKER 7IN. I PLAN TO GO WITH 38 BOGGERS. A BUDDY OF MINE HAS JUST A 7IN SKYJACKER ON THE TRUCK HE IS PUTTING GATHER WITH 38 BOGGERS AND IT IS TALLER THAN MY TRUCK BY ABOUT 3INCHES WITH ALL THE LIFT I HAVE. I NEED TO KNOW DOSE SKYJACKER LIFTS HOLD THERE LIFT.

what he's asking is if the springs will hold they're lift or do they sag over time and lose a 1" or so 4RUNNERS usually sit lower cause of the extra weight SBS(saggy but syndrome) and that he has 3" taller tires would explain some of the difference. How long have you had the NWOR lift?

I'VE HAD THE NWOR LIFT FOR ABOUT 6 YEARS NOW! I WAS HAPPY WITH THE LIFT AT FIRST BEENING MY TRUCK WAS LIFTED AND I COULD START RUNNING BIGGER TIRES BUT IT WAS NOT A TRUE 6" LIFT AS FAR AS I KNOW. FOR THE MONEY I SPENT I COULD HAVE GOTTEN THE SKYJACKER.

If you've had the lift for 6 years then I would say it has def settled and you prob lost a full inch or more but his skyjacker is going to lose a little over time as well the way pretty much all kits will do. I'm not saying go out and buy new springs BUT if a good deal comes along I would consider replacing them. It would still be cheaper than replaceing an entire lift kit

THE LIFT HAS SETTLED ABOUT 1/2 AN INCH. I MEASURED IT WHEN I INSTALLED IT AND AGAIN ABOUT 4 MONTHS AGO. I HAD TO PUT A 3" BODY LIFT JUST TO COME CLOSE TO MY BUDDYS TRUCK WITH THE 7 INCH SKYJACKER. NOW HE DID A SAS SO THAT GIVES A LITTLE LIFT.

Your 85 runner has the solid axle as well so if your tying to keep up with your buddy add some lift blocks say 2" I personally wouldn't but if it's what 's gonna work go for it or you could also do a u-bolt flip kit which I would do in fact I am adding to my '85

I would never put lift blocks in the front just for safety reasons. I've seen it done before. the blocks get in the Way of the stock steering anyway. I would like to do u-bolt flip but i don't want to pay out the money for it. I'm going to make the u-bolt flip my self. At work they have the tools to cut the metal and bend the ends for strength. It might take a few tries to get it right but heck it will be free thanks to uncle SAM. I made the 3" body lift myself. I don't like it as far as for the shifters on the trans but it gives me that 3 extra inches of lift for now.

Roger Brown @ 4crawler has the goods for that fix at a very fair price. BTW let me know how the flip kit turns out. I feel the same way I want them for my '85 but don't have or want to pay that much for them. I'd make them myself as well but I'm in a new area and don't have the acces to the equipment and connections I'm used to.

I'll let you as soon as I make them. It might be a little while. As for the shifter I cut some of the metal back. It works but I still feel it could be better.

I NEED TO KNOW DOSE SKYJACKER LIFTS HOLD THERE LIFT. I was a GM Suburban owner before getting my 05 taco, I have had 4 Sububans 78, 79, 88 and a 90, All in which I lifted on my own, plus from my experience with helping others lift their j**ps and fords. When it comes to leaf spring lift Skyjacker is a number one!!! I started out with a Rancho lift, not bad but after the Skyjacker the ride was much better and never encountered a problem with the springs losing their arch (which I think is what you meant by holding their lift). I ttried both Rough Country and Rugged Trail and they are like their names when it comes to ride quality rough and rugged, and when I bought my rough country lift I noticed a fade in the front spring after just over a year. Go skyjacker all the way!!!!!
