ok lookin for some lift around 1 1/2 - 2 inches overall. And I was thinking about putting on some of these shackles for the front and rear. How do they work and are they hard to install? Are there any drawbacks/negative effects to using shackles of any kind. What do you think about these shackles www.central4wd.com/category.aspx?page=id|5318ok the link doesnt work but go to: suspension-greasable super shackles Are there some better ones out there ? Is there a better safer way to get a little lift ? any help or suggestions would be great. IF you have done a 2 inch lift on your similar toy what did you do/use ?

Shackles work by allowing your springs to compress (and de-compress?) the longer the shackle you have, the more droop your axle can have, hence giving your truck better flex. I don't think you'll have any draw back using those shackles, people have problems when they try to get too much lift with longer shackles, but 1 1/2" to 2" shouldn't give you any trouble. Install should be pretty straight forward, just unbolt the old ones, and bolt in the new ones.

Doubt very much that's "each", but seems high even for a pair. Try:

be carefull though, if the shackles are supposed to give u 2 inches of lift , u will really get a little more than 1 inch. at least that was my experiance.
