Just bought a 1989 toyota pickup xcab, needs new leaf spring so I thought I might as well replace both rear springs, should I jsut go through a junkyard and take one off of another yota or get them new? Whats a good online site that has them resonably priced.

1) Are you looking for stock springs, or ones that will lift the vehicle? B) Chances are any junkyard springs will be as worn as yours.

i don't know how much fab work you can do, but a popular thing to do on the cheap is to buy a set of springs from a 88-98 chevy and put those on, and then put ball joint spacers in the front to match height. the chevy's are a lot longer than the stock springs, so you have to weld on a new front hanger, and move the rear shackle back... check out the chevy swap thread... mkelly.proboards22.com/index.cgi?board=FAQ&action=display&thread=1068491953as for the spacers up front, check out 4crawler... www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/BallJointSpacer.shtmlso figure, all said and done, $150 (max) for the chevy's, $116 (with shipping) for the ball joint spacers, and you'd Be set up with a mild lift for cheap. the 4crawler page says you might need new shocks, tho, so that's something to consider... my buddy bought the pro comps from 4wheelparts.com for like $150 bucks and has been happy with em... hope that helps ya!

I found leafsprings for yotas on JCWHITNEY, for $150ea, but they have an ad for 15% off so ill only be paying around $250 for a pair, which aint too bad. I think Ill wait and lift it this summer when I have some money.but thanks for letting me know about the chevy 1/2 ton will fit with some mods.

If you can find some 2WD Toyota p/u packs, they'll bolt right in and give a few " of lift. Should be a lot easier to find at a junkyard than 4WD springs and have less wear.

If you are still looking for leafs check out Downey off-road. They have some 2" springs for that truck and the last set I got from them got to my door for like $200. I have had great luck with their springs on my Taco and '86 pickup.
