Hi My name is Facundo and I am from Barcelona Spain. A few days ago I bought a very well handeled 92´ 4 runner. I want to do some mods on my toy but here in spain there is no much culture about lifting trucks, so I need your help please so I don´t make mistakes... I want to fit 33x12.5x15 bfGoodrich Mud terrains, on 15x10 aloy rims. Is enaugh screwing the torsion bar about 2"in the front, 2"longer coils in the back, and putting a 2" body lift ? I don´t want to use the car for rockcrawling, just want to give a more muscle look, but don´t want to start braking mechanical parts of the car or having problems. What do you think??? Thanks a lot and sorry for my poor english ;-)

Don't go "screwing" anything.
Get yourself a nice 2'' body lift and properly (back)spaced wheels. You'll be good to go.
You'll achieve "mucho umbre" ("much man" to the common folk)
Run over a Serb for me if you get a chance too.

English is great....I reccomend a 3" body lift. If you crank the torsion bars it will change the way your vehicle rides, so leave those alone. You should clear 33's fine with the body lift, I do.

Thanks a lot for your answer !!! My Dilema is: the mechanic says he thinks its much more difficult to install a 3" bodylift than a 2" . If 33x12.5x15 tyres fit well with the 2" bodylift without screwing anything for me is ok, but I don´t want to have a huge rubber contact on the body. Stew what do you mean (back spaced wheels??? The Offset of the rims? The offset options I am looking for are between 36-40mm. Thanks you !!! Facu

with a 3 in. body you might have to extend brake lines and whatnot. a 2in. body and slight cranking of the torsion bars and you could make it work.

If you stick to a 8'' wide wheel, with the proper offset( where the 8'' width of the rim itself is centered from the mounting surface of the hub) you should be fine with 2'' body lift. Do you really plan on using it off road or just for the "mucho umbre"? I don't know the proper metric conversions...
Can someone else help here???
IF you do actually plan on using the truck off road, the inner front fender body seams will need to be rolled over(gently hammered over). There may be a nice "happy medium" of a 10.5'' width tire combo or even 9.5''. Honestly...for looks alone a 31'' x10.5'' looks really good on these trucks.

Is enaugh screwing the torsion bar about 2"in the front, 2"longer coils in the back, and putting a 2" body lift ? Thanks a lot and sorry for my poor english ;-) I'd replace the stock torsion bars with heavier ones from Sway-A-Way, then crank them an inch or two. Then add the longer coils and 2" body lift. This way you can get the look you want, be able to fit 33" tires, AND have a more capable truck if you do go offroad. And your English is better than a lot of the people on this site. ;D

I saw the light at the end of the tunnel !!! I decided to spend a little bit money and buy a complete 4" pro-comp suspension kit, and do things properly. Here in Spain for 4 old man emu shocks and two rear new coils you pay about 500 €. A 2" bodylift 400 €. Plus the hours of the mechanic... For about 1000 dollars I buy at 4wheelparts.com a complete kit including coils and shock absorbers. Isn´t a better option ? Does my new toy not deserve such a gift Thanks !!!

Ok, now that you've made up your mind....
WILL YOU PLEASE STOP CALLING YOUR TRUCK A "CAR"
I know there are language barriers, but I'm fairly fond of my TRUCKS.
I'm just kidding with you. Good luck.
Don't be shy about picking up some wrenches and getting dirty. It's half the fun is doing some work yourself.
If you thought the labor for a body lift was high....I'd hate to see what they charge you for the suspension lift.
