Hi everybody! im new here and i am also a little new to off roading in a truck. i have been riding dirt bikes, however, for about 6 years on tracks and in the mountains so i guess im not a complete rookie at offraoding. anyway, my question is about lift kits, i just bought an 88 toyota pickup and i am looking into putting a lift on it but i am confused about what to buy. i was wondering what the difference is between a suspension lift kit and a body lift kit.... also if anyone has any tips on where to find good lift kits for..... minimal cost..... oh and one more thing, what would you recomend for tire size? i was thinking 33" but im not sure, thanks in advance

A body lift does exactly as the name implies. It lifts the body from the frame to make room for tires. The suspension lift changes the suspension to provide more room for bigger tires. That is the simple answer.
If all you want to run is 33's then just go ahead an buy the tires put them on. You may have enough clearance for your needs. If not then try the ball joint spacers ( I dont remember where these come from I am sure someone will post that for you or just check the threads) for the front, maybe new rear springs I like the downey 2" or 3" others recomend other brands. If you can weld then 63" chevy springs (88-98 half ton chevy pickup springs) for the rear are a great mod.
33's are a good tire size for moderate wheeling.
Hope this helps.
