does anyone know anything about the allpro 6'' long travel leaf springs..im thinking about getting some this summer...right now from what i can tell the lift i have is just block in the rear with a longer shackle and add a leaf.and the front is a 5'' spring...so i was hoping that these would give me a full 6'' of lift on spring alone...and also how good will these springs flex if i get the long travel shocks with them..

AllPro's springs, as well those from Trail-Gear and Marlin, are built to provide a lot of flex. You'll need new shocks with any of them.

For the money they are asking i sure hope Allpro isnt still selling mexican made springs. I see marlin has dicontinued his and is blowing out whats left of them. At least there they gave you a choice and you knew where your springs are made.

Trail gear's springs are still priced lower than All Pro and you get free shipping. What's the big difference between American and "South of the Border" springs? Are the home grown springs going to last longer or am I just trying to keep some immigrants employed by buying domestic? Marlin's springs are in another price category all together, although I would LOVE for my ride to be all his parts, some of us are working on a budget. Seems to me that any of the big three(Trail Gear, All Pro, Marlin), no matter what you get are going to be WAY better than some of the other lifts short of spending the big bucks on Deaver or the like. The lift on my ride is pretty much like riding down the freeway on a surfboard now, the seatbelt keeps me from hitting my head on the roof on some bumps and somebody actually spent $ on this lift?!!

LOL speedy. I can top that. The 85 toya 4x4 I have someone the previous owner had a bright idea of a cheap lift. They put an add- a-leaf in the front leaf packs. Its terrible the worst riding thing I have ever driven. A lil asphalt patch in the road will make you come out of your sit. I have hit my head a couple of time on the roof driving it. And I'm 6' 5" tall. But won't be driving it anymore till I get lifted with new srings.

If I didn't have faith in the end product that I WILL create, I would have kicked this truck to the curbside long ago due to MANY poor decisions by the previous owner. However be that as it may, I do get WAY more compliments driving around town in my $5000(invested) Toyota over my $4xxxx Durango! As for the All Pro 6" leafs, they are bound to be good stuff, like fourwd1 said though, the springs aren't the end of the spending spree, you will definitely need a new front hanger welded on, and longer shackles for the front, and longer shock hoops with longer shocks to do it any real justice. Not to mention that those springs require the steering box to be moved forward(which I did when I did my crossover steering) because they move the axle forward and you will without a doubt need crossover steering if you haven't done it already due to the increased travel! I think I figured about $676 and no cents for the front : springs, hanger, shackles, shock hoops, shocks, and Ubolt flip kit from Trail gear for 5" springs if your interested! All pro advertises 19" of travel with the Long Travel kit, 24" of travel with the super flexy springs that are only 3" lift. Personally I will probably go with the 3" lift springs because the front hanger will add about 3/4", the longer front shackles that are necessary will add a little more, you will end up with 4" of lift that will support some big tires, it will ride like a caddie on the road, and flex like a buggy on the trail. You might not need a ladder to get in it, but it will be impressive none the less!

How well are the axle shafts and birfields going to do with the bigger tires? Anyone... I wouldn't mind running some big tires like that but I am under the impression that Longfield super birfs are going to be a good thing with tires that big. Especially with a front locker.

Yes the domestics last longer. When All Pro switched they started having customers break springs with increased frequency. There is a reason the domestic ones are more and its not just because Joe American wants double to do the same job as Carlos the mexican. Maybe im crazy but i wont support trail gear who seem to me to be some jonny come lately's who simply copied what everyone else was doing and put it together with a marketing plan. Like the Walmart of Toyota offroad. I have yet to see one original product from them. I am running 37s on a 4"lift spring, old school american made allpro. I think rockcrawling toy is running even bigger on less lift. I dont know why you think you need a 6" spring. And its not like i dont work on a budget, for petes sake its taken me 7 years to get this far and i still need to do something with my stock transfercase. But when it comes to pay more now, or pay even more later I choose quality and longevity over saving a buck or two in the short run if i can afford too.

I was unaware of the breakage issues. Good to know, that's why I ask alot of questions!

allright well if i dont need alot of lift to run big tires...could someone tell me what i would need to do to be able to run 38''s and have alot of articulation...cause with what i have now which is a total of 7'' i ran a set of 38''s a friend had and they rubbed up front...i under what everyones saying about move the axle forward and trim the front fender..but i just dont see how its gonna work out for the rear or even more so how its going to be able to flex more then it does now with less or even the same amount of lift with bigger tires....

as small of lift with the biggest rubber is what your going for. Trim the fenders and tub the firewall if you have to but keep the rig as low as possible with the widest stance you can get, more stability, Personally im going to run 5in allpros with 39.5 iroks. but thats because i got the springs for free and the tires for half price (brand new), im just waiting on a couple little things and on they go.

if u can move the front axle forward. mine is about 8 inches forward it allows you tyo run less lift and less trimming
