Where can I find a coil and shakle kit to do this lift and how much of a lift can I get? I will not be doing any hard trailing or rock crawling. I have a 94 Toyota x-cab pickup.

Where does your '94 have coils? If it does they can't be stock, unless it was in the rear on a 4Runner. How much lift do you want? Shackles are very easy to make with a cutting torch and some 1/4 steel (You don't even have to weld anything) You can make them as long as you want but I wouldn't go longer than 4 inches of lift because of angles and such. However I do know a guy that had 8 inches of lift from his shackles but that looked really weird.

I may be mistaken on the coils. I have a 94 with IFS. If I was to do three inch shakles in the rear what do I do to the front to acheive the same amount of lift up front. Is there any cons to doing this type of lift? I appreciate any help as I am not knowledgable in this area.

On the front you could crank your torsion bars like I did, the bad side are- rougher ride, torsion bars wearing out and breaking after time (I have never broken one but I've heard of it) No real bad thing about the shackles in the rear.
Or you ould go for a suspension lift like I just got ahold of (For free) Most toyota IFS trucks are 4 inch lifts in the front. I've seen them on craigslist for $150.00 up. Mine was free cause my buddy rolled his truck and he owed me some money.
Also they have things called ball joint spacers. 1 1/2 inch lift to 2 inch lift are gained from these for $100.00 to $150.00. Torsion bars cranked plus ball joint spacers could get you about 4-4 1/2 inches of lift.

So, if I wanted three inches of lift would I make the shakles 3inches long? I'm going to go with this lift because it seems cheap and easy. I'll crank the t-bars and go with two inch ball joint spacers. Are my tires going to wear unevenly up front because of this? If this lift sounds like it won't work let me know. Thanks guys.

I made this today...I think it will help you with the shackle thing cause first you dont just add three inches and also it already has shackles just not big ones...kinda crappy img. conversion

If you want a shackle that gives 3" of lift, it needs to be 6" longer than the stock shackle, eye to eye. If you crank the t-bars, you should get the front end aligned, or the tires won't wear correctly.
