Sounds like u know how to wire stuff dude, so u r saying that I should run a relay between my winch and my batt? Is it bad to have too big of wires connected to your winch and batt? U sound like the wiring expert to me, maybe u can give me some pointers. But yes I do agree whether it is a $1300 or $300 winch it WILL burn out eventually.

No.
The winch should be wired directly to the battery with very heavy gauge cable, as short as possible (this reduces voltage drops). I used heavier cable than what came with the winch, and I did use a high current rated quick disconnect inline as an added safety feature.
The winch control box typically has 2-4 relays in it, you don't need anything else.

Yep I used some really heavy gauge cable myself. The biggest that I could find. Thanks guys, this helps alot.

I hate j**ps!!! Just like a fat kid hates Vegetables!!! Move out of my way before I start foaming at the mouth. If I were a doctor I would prescribe marijuana to j**p owners "for medicinal purposes" In the beginning there was the j**p.... Then it died. Dude, what model jeep did you have that let you down and made you hate jeeps so much ??

I hate Cheeps because of their modifiability if that is even a word and because they just flat out SUCK!!! I have seen people modify everything on their Cheep from the damned steering wheel all the way up to the entire drivetrain and Chassis, Now with a Yota all u really have to do is add low gears, lockers, larger tires, and just for kicks a dual T-Case for some added trail power. Also, I have wheeled with these super modified "Jeeps" (should be named Cheeps) and they cant go over some shit that my Stock 92 IFS'd Yota Can. That is my opinion and I am stickin to it. Thanks for asking though I was waiting for someone to.

what are you like 13 or something? I really don't like Jeep's either, but not because of how much support they get fram aftermarket companys. Ever think that maybe there is a reason they have that much support? Anyway, to each is their own.

Man they need that much support, a Jeep would be nothing without their aftermarket Bull Shit. Later,

Thanks for asking though I was waiting for someone to. Scott Has alot to do with wheelbase. CJ's and Wranglers very often get screwed because of their short wheelbase. Cherokees are very comparable to Yotas when it comes to their capability with very litle modifications. STOCK FOR STOCK, I believe Yotas will run over a Heep. Man they need that much support, a j**p would be nothing without their aftermarket Bull Shit. Later, Scott When it comes to NEW Heeps(87 and up), I have to agree with you. There is not a whole lot you can do with out aftermarket help and their driveline basically sucks. The 4.0 is the best thing (probly ONLY thing the Chrysler Heeps have going for them) The AMC ara Heeps on the other hand are very easily built with factory or junk yard parts and are very adaptable to Other makes with no special adapters needed. I have built MANY Heeps and none of them have satisfied me. Now I'm back where I started 8 years ago... Buildin another YOTA

Agreed, the really old Cheeps like the Willies, and the older CJ's are pretty kick ass.

Not deffendin' jips (LOL)...but they're popular, got lots of loyalists-just like yotas. Some designs were built for 20-30 yrs w/o major changes (wagoneer-1963-'91, cj-5. cj-6), were decent rigs. Aftermarket keeps old rigs on road, makes parts to modify new ones. We all modify our rigs, a little or alot. How about toyota vs jeep shootout? Seriously, get 2 clubs, match up vehicles (cj/wrangler vs fj-40, 4runner vs xj/cherokee, pickup/taco vs gladiator/comanche). Friendly competion at a off-road site like Paragon. We have alot in common with jeeps. We all want open, accessable off-road areas to drive in. We know we need to protect what unrestricted land we have left.

I hate Cheeps because of their modifiability if that is even a word ... Sounds more like you are jealous and that's not modifying a Toyota ? so have I, and they can go places my highly modified Toyota can't, because of their short wb. And I can do things they can't because of my longer wb. The fact that you have no personal experience to base your opinion on makes speaks volumes.

Ok, you all win. I give, I have had a few Jeeps do more than the Yota and because of their wheelbase. But I have to add one more thing: driver skill has a whole assload to do with how a vehicle wheels also. So If I were to go head on with someone like say Walker Evans, I would prolly lose or Jason Paule or any of those champ crawlers. Sorry I still wanna keep the sub-boards or whatever they are, because they kinda sound funny and r pretty cool (just my opinion).

Yeah these subboards are great. We all get to vent our rage & stuff. I don't think jips are so bad. Toyotas happen to be better designed and built. That's why I sold my 95 Cherokee and got a Taco. I drive a Yota...wil keep driving it til either the truck or I wears out...whatever comes first

I like my toy way better and like you said it dosent take much to wheel a toyota. Oh by the way I like my warn 8000 2 years no probs.
