Hey new guy here with an 85 shortbed. Glad to find this site as hopefully over the next year or so I'll be turning it into more of an "off-road" vehicle. I got the truck before me ex-girlfriend dumped me but I bought her a a 91' Corsica and took the Toy so I guess I got the best end of the deal anyways. I really haven't done much for modifications. I do have some ?'s that hopefully somebody with more knowledge than can answer. I have been told that it is an SR5 edition but didn't know they made them back then. It has a "factory" lift (app. 2" ) factory air conditioning, factory sunroof, and "heavy duty" suspension, and factory pwr windows. It also came with bucket seats that have some type of lumbar adjustment on the driver side. I don't know how rare this is but the local toyata dealership wants $160 for a new switch. I put a Kenwood cd player in and a set of aftermarket replacment speakers which promptly shot. I also just got done putting new gears in the rear after trying my 4wd and finding that it had 5:29's in the front and 4:10's in the rear. I put 5:29's in the back as well but am still running 31's till summer. I plan to go with a 4" lift and 35's. We have a 4 wheeling park about 3/4's of a mile down the road. It's not open to the public till the guy gets through all the political red tape and convinces the local public that a off-roading park will not degrade the neighborhood or cause excess noise polution. I helped build a motor for a friend who has a 89' jeep (already said a 4 letter word) and he has invited us down a couple times so now I'm hooked! As for myself I'll be 22 years old in feb, I've spent the last 4 years of my life building race motors for the local speed shop. I've lived in Va all my life and have no plans to leave. (although Utah looks pretty nice) Well I hope somebody can answer a few of my ?'s and that I can gather some useful info for my toyata
