Hey, I'm gonna get a digital camera here as soon as my truck goes in the shop. Why don't some of you guys with pics handy post them in this thread and tell us what camera you used and its rated megapixels. I know I would appreciate it and others might too! Thanks!

I did the opposite of Fred and got a camera that can record video. I needed something with higher megapixels than most video recorders have yet. I got the kodak easyshare 6440. It has 4 megapixels and is very easy to use. I really like it. It comes with a docking station you put the camera on and hit a button to connect it to your computer as another drive. Another thing, don't buy something just because it has a lot of digital zoom. Digital zoom sucks and isn't as good as optical zoom. The video the camera records isn't that great but it is fun to have in some situations. We might eventually get a digital video camera later on. www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml;jsessionid=KZPDSUEVZA0FXQHIO3PHWLQ?pq-path=1054&Submit.x=28&Submit.y=12&pq-locale=en_US&_requestid=182630

;D Snorkle's 100% right on the zoom thing. It's just a selling point for those who don't know. Mine has a "700x digital zoom" feature. I really don't need to see a pimple on a possum's ass @ 1000 yards so I've never used it. Go to one of the retail chains & play. Then buy what you need. Later...

Yeah, I actually spent the first half of my career as a professional videographer. I have thought about going a dual purpose direction, but in the long run, I probably need two cameras to be truly satisfied. I have been looking at a 5 megapixel slr type camera so I can use my old lenses that I already have a pile invested in. I am still interested in what you guys have because you post some nice pics! Keep it up! I know cameras enough to not even consider digital zoom in the equation. I can play my Atari 2600 if I want bad resolution. ;D

OMG... Atari 2600... no kidding. Would you believe that just this weekend i went to my dads house and got out the 2600 for my 4 year old? (ok i may be a little to excited) I have been trying to bid on a pair of paddles so we can play Super Breakout again.
NEWay... i know what you are saying about the SLR. I don't have a digital camera because just before they became REALLY popular, we went out and dropped a load on a nice Nikon SLR. Now it is a matter of principal. I just can't bring myself to get a digi. Although i want one REALLY bad.
