It must be nice to be able to speed. Stinkin 3.0 barely makes it over 80 without sounding like it's going to explode, and I just put a new (50,000 miles) one in!

Yea, on the highways I drive kinda fast too, but I want to say this, and PLEASE listen to me... When you are driving in a residential area (i.e. where kids might be playing) go as slow as possible!! I live in a new developement where a LOT of families have small kids including myself. Small kids do not think before running out in the streets. I have taught my 4 year old to not run out, but who knows what goes through his little brain sometimes. I see a lot of adult, and "kids" driving way, WAY too fast for developement streets. It makes me want to throw a brick at their window when I see them coming It's a developement - nothing can be that important that you need to speed down streets where kids play. It's literally less than 2 minutes before you get to the main road!

Lifted i know what your saying about NC. My folks live there and it drives me nuts when I am there and driving on the interstate. No one understands that the left lane is for faster traffic. Everyone just clogs up the interstate and you are forced to go slower than the speed limit. My Dad got so fed up he only drives in the right lane to pass people. Of course the strech of I-40 going from Durham to Raleigh through APex is just a four lane interstate, so it is always slow. It is usually worse about the time I'm headed to Raleigh to fly out of town. I'm sure not everyone from NC does that but it sure seems like a lot of people do it.

Mike i know what your talking about. We have this guy who rides a crotch rocket (motorcycle) down our street and pulls wheelies and burnouts. The kicker is he doesn't even live on our street. I have called the cops several times on him and he keeps it up. I've tried to catch him as he comes down the street so i can confront him. We have some kids on our street that ride up and down the street on their bikes. The last thing we need is some hotdogger killing a kid. I think I'm going to put my baseball bat near the door so I'm ready next time. Not to hurt him but to put a little reality in the situation.

Yeah I do agree with that Mike. It almost makes you not want to let the kids go outside to play sometimes. Even some of the older kids, teens, sometimes don't think about it before running into streets. BTW a knife it the side of their tires at night will slow them down. ;D
Snorkle, how good are you with a javelin? A steel rod through the spokes him make him think twice. Especially if you get the front one. Trust me, I know.
People like this really piss me off and need to be stopped.

Yeah I've had the old front tire stop spinning routine happen on a bike. I don't think i will cause too much trouble, just want him to know I've had enough.

Alright well things came to a head with the motorcycle guy tonight. Yesterday I actually caught him coming down the street. I ran outside and told him he needed to cool it on our street. He seemed to be ok with it and even drove by slow several times that day. Untill today... So this time I hear him coming and I went to the window to watch. He looked at our house and then popped a wheelie. I called the cops and turned in his tags. The cops found him and ended up it was a guy down the street. I dont live in the best part of town. Come to find out the guy is going to court for posession of cocaine and will be doing 3-5. So no more worrying about that bike guy for 3-5 years. thats justice for ya. Needless to say im not pressing charges for the wreckless driving...

Ah another adreniline junky......adreniline, one of my best friends ;D#1 speeding in residential areas if it even looks like there could be kids in the area slow the f/%$# down The only thing I don't agree with on this is that it shouldn't matter if it looks like or doesn't look like there might be a kid(s) around, you should be going slow through any kind of residential area.

;D Good for you Snorkle!! I'm sure w/the recent mod, things look a bit different. It's funny how things have a way of working out. In the end, it's 100% to the "right" way of doing business. Later...

i drive slow through residential areas.... but thats it i dont want to hit a kid with my truck... ive been hit by a car before and its not fun, it kinda hurts ... so i take it easy around residential areas... but around my house you dont have to worry about hitting kids, you have to worry about them hitting you ... ive almost been sideswiped by some of the kids in my area that were riding pedel bikes makes no sense to me but what ever
