Just for a heads up if you are on the west coast u might wanna think about gettin some kind of real security for your rig. In chico where i am from 8 built toyotas have been stolen in the past 6 months. Here in weed where i go to school a lifted ford ranger was stolen and burned. The ranger was parked next to mine it verywell could have been my truck that they stole. Anyway keep this in the back of your head. there is no such thing as too much security

Here in Tennessee rigs do get stolen but not as often as Escalades and Hondas. However, this is an interesting topic. I would be curious to know what theft prevention measures everyone is using and how it is working for them. So post up with some insight with what your using.... Me...door locks...yeah i know. Thought about getting some battery quick disconnects or something. Post up and give me some good suggestions. PS...I like that you go to college in Weed CA. My wife used to live near there and always laughed at the road sign for college one way and weed the other.

PS...I like that you go to college in Weed CA. My wife used to live near there and always laughed at the road sign for college one way and weed the other. I always liked the idea of putting small currents of electricity in the door handles or the seats.
In my 69 Firebird I had one half of a connector that was wire in the power wire for the neutral switch. It was up out of the way so it wasn't hanging down yet easy to get to and find without having to see it or needed to look under the dash. It was set up so that you couldn't tell where the wires were going to and just looked like one of those extra connectors for some add on accessory. I then had the other half of the connector made so that when it was plugged in it would let the juice through and with the it removed it would kill the juice.

I had a friend in High school (back in the day) That used a electric fence box on his truck. it was a lifted chevy. he ran multiple batteries and alt's. u touched it and ZAP.... to turn it of he had a hiddin toggle switch . He would grab on to the 44" tire and flipp the switch. It sucked when u forgot it was on and leaned up agaist the truck

basically any worn out toyota key will work on a similar year yota. ive got 3 friends with yotas and i get calls regularly to come open their doors or lend them a spare ignition key because my 82 keys are master. the door key for the 82 also opens and starts my buddys 2wd j10 pickup. its always good when you need a parkin spot but i'd never use it to be a dick or steal someone elses junk.

i have an auto start on my taco... ill roll out of bed and hit the button and the trucks nice and warm ... well one time i forgot to lock my truck the night before and started my truck in the morning... when i went out to my truck it was shut off and the door was wide open... some jack@$$ probaly thought that the keys were in it, jumped in and hit the brake to take it out of park. and to his suprise the truck shut off i wish i would have caught him while he was in the truck ;D... its not so much a security system but its a good way to mess with someone
