Alright, ive had my cobra DXIII for a year now and love it, got it in the ash tray place and have a 3 ft whip, great on the trails. I picked up a PA speaker for it, plugged it in the back and when I push the button to talk all it does is emit a very loud high pitched sound, anybody experienced this, any ideas? thanks

kinda sounds like it's feeding back, like at a concert when a mic gets put too close to a speaker, and it comes through as a nasty squeal. also happens when you put two walkie talkies too close together and push one of the 'talk' buttons. try pointing the speaker away from you, or moving the mic to a different spot and see if you can get it to not make the sound... hope it works out for ya!
