This post is probably common sense for most people, but we all do stupid things. For those of you who have larger tires, (mine are 33 x 12.5), when you get them (new) and have them put on your truck, make sure you go to a professional balancing shop to have them balanced. I went to a no name garage about 2 months ago and they balanced them pretty quickly, but i've noticed alot of highway vibration. When I got them rebalanced today at a larger chain, the guys said the balance was way off, and done incorrectly at that. All four tires were also at different pressures. So learn from my mistake, and pay a little extra for better quality work done. I'd do it myself, but very few people have a balance machine at home.

thats if u can get them balanced. i am goin to be ruiin 40 inch iroks on bead locks. i think ill just drop a few golf balls in there to balance them. it really doesnt matter if u go to a larger chain with the balancing it all depends on the person doin the balance and if they wanna do the job right or not. as far as the air pressure thats all on you i feel.

Got my 36's balanced by a guy who had a balancing machine for big rigs. Did a good job except for one tire. Got it mounted kinda off center. Had to take it over to another guy who balanced them on the truck old school. Then he shaved the one that was off center....
Of course thats when i was using it as a daily driver and cared about it being balanced. Now....i could care less as long as it has some air in the tires...

ya get what ya pay for!!! This is very true. The only reason I mentioned going to a larger chain is because if you go to a good place that you already trust, you're more apt to get better service. Originally, I went the cheap route, but ended up regretting it. And the tire pressures mattered because all four were different. This is only important because there was a noticiable difference (more than 10psi difference), and this is my DD. Highway miles account for much of my traveling, and every little bit matters when keeping vibation and wear down to a minimum on your rig. (on road anyway)

i havent had anything under 37" for 3 years now...i've always bought my tires @ discount tire, and they have always done my balancing (whether it be new tires, swapping wheels or just rebalance)....i always insist on their best balancing guy, which is usually the guy w/ the 4x4 in the parking lot....any tire that comes back w/ more than 10oz on it i make them spin the wheel and try again. even if it comes back the same the 2nd time i'm happy for the extra effort.
