Traded in my big Ford for the Toy as gas is a killer (no suprise). I love the way the 4x2 prerunner TRD Sport sits like a 4x4, I figure I can run this one for the next 5 years and then my oldest boy will be able to take it over. I don't do any off-roading, just hunting and I don't go down level b roads that often. Just wondering how much it will do in the winter (Iowa) with such a light bed. I plan on putting 6 50lb sand bags over the axle for extra traction. It came with the BFG tires not the dunlop (lucky).
Any thoughts on the winter driving?

One good way is to get a tow hitch the added weight at the back worked out well for me(still need a couple of sand bags)but def helped alot.

i have an 02 prerunner and it does ok. i still wish i had spent the extra money to get the 4x4 but it does the trick. the little snow we get down here it does good, just you have rear diff lock dont use it in the snow. my wife put ours in the ditch because of this.
