Hilux in the states

Well i just got back from a trip to peru, and while i was down there i noticed they had tons of old hilux 4 door trucks. They were all over the place, they had some newer hilux with what looked like the tacoma front/cab, but the hilux bed. They looked sweet. Anyone know if canada, or mexico got these trucks too? Cause i'm interested in trying to get one, i'm thinkin an older one with a straight axle. Anyway, it would be alot easier to get one home from canada or mexico, than peru, or somehwere farther away. I'll see if i can find some pics to post up.

I talked to my uncle (most of his family is from mexico) and he said that they are all over down there, but he said they were mostly 2wd....
I also got to thinking... I'd have to add all the smog stuff to make it legal. Not sure how hard that'd bee, but i'd imagine it'd be quite the project... anyone got an idea of what all it would take to get the smog stuff done to get it legal? of if it'd even be possible?
