I have a 89 toyota Camry and the brake and reverse lights went to the shits. Well I went and bought all new lights for it. Well that didnt fix the problem. So I check the fuse and it was fine but I went a head and changed them any ways. Well now I have tryed what I know to check and still nothing. The running lights work but not the brake lights or back up lights. Im lost and dont want to take it in can some one give me some advice on where to go and what to try?

There is a switch mounted near the top of your brake pedal braket. It is the switch that actually sets off the brake light. Replace that and you should be good to go.

it could also be a relay my buddy just told me that he was working on a car that had the same problem turned out it was a $150 relay in the side of the trunk about 2 feet back from the tail lights. if it is the relay just bypass it. let me know what you find out.

wow, do not pay $150 for any relay!! if you get the work done, tell the tech to show you(and prove) the problem. tomorow i will check it out at work, i may be able to figure it out.
