Only in Central New York State.... July 24th and the corn is 12ft tall. I think the deer will need ladders this year. The truck almost doesn't look real next to the corn. Looks like a "toy" Stew

WOW...looks like yall are having a good growin year!
The only bad thing about corn is it doesnt provide deer with the nutrients needed to grow healthy racks. But i know one thing...they will still eat them some corn!!!!!
We planted a bunch of clover, brasicas, and some other crap one year. I have never seen so many big bucks come off one small 50 acre track. We are watching 8 bucks all outside the ears with heavy mass and tall tines come out in the field every night this summer. I cant wait for bow season.
But back to the corn deal you got. It def. makes that taco look like a micro-machine! Is that feed grade corn? When do yall harvest? I bet its gonna be a good deer season for you!!
Good luck man!

Feed grade and 'round-up' ready.
Nothing like a miracle rack, but myself, I don't care too much about a buck. I'd rather have 60-80lbs of 99% fat free, steroid free, antibiotic free corn fed red meat. (with a little trace of round-up) Hell, keeps my hair down anyway ;D
Since that picture last week, the corn has tassled reaching another 16'' to 24''
The farmers seem a little jelious.
We have soy too, but there is quite a lush variety available in the area. We are landlocked around others 'posted' hunting grounds. Kinda sucks to watch a Buck grow, then migrate away from your hunting area. The deer in this area all eat well, but travel season to season 6-8 miles. I spotted one buck last season for 3 weeeks only to have him shift trails by 300 yards when shotgun opened. Probably my own fault for being a smoker(not in the field)
Back-straps and tenderloins........ That's what its all about...... Besides legally killing things.....

Being landlocked sux!!!!
We have that problem here bad. But what can you do. I just wish other ppl would let the bucks mature more. Another problem we have here bad is road hunters. I know about 70% of my buddies road hunt and it pisses me off to high heaven. I was watching a hell of a buck last year runnin around the house and sure as shit im on my way home from a birthday party and some asshole has two buddies carrying that buck off the road into the bed of a newer chevy and rolled out. If my toyota wasnt soo friggin slow i would have ran him down. The bad thing was he was still in velvet and not done growin.
You are right tho about the little deer! I will always bust a couple small ones each year with my bow just for some down right good eatin.
Speaking of corn i just got back from across the street where my buddy grew a healthy sized patch of edible corn. Took a couple sacks with me and filled up! Its gonna be good eating tonight. I got some tenders marinading in italian dressing and a few other secrets right now for tonights dinner.

I could eat tenderloins right out da deer......
No need to season them up here... Just a little salt and pepper.
You may be in for a 'dry-ice' package this coming season. If you've never had a deer from here (fingerlakes region) then...hell...you've really REALLY gotta try some.
There is no 'game' taste up here in the deer. Only the turkey and deer from the Adirondacks and southern tier.

So you live in Central New York. I didn't even know you guys could grow corn there. Theres a few farms around here that grow corn. It sure is good, and the deer are enormous. Out here in Wyoming, we have the ever famous, Mule Deer. It doesn't taste nearly as good as a corn fed Whitetail but they are ok. I saw a Mulie last season that was an 11X19 and couldn't hardly pick up his head because of the size of his antlers. Too bad I had a Whitetail only permit. Otherwise he would have beeen dead meat and his head would be mounted over my fireplace right now. Oh well I plan on going after him this year. I ended up killing a really small 3X3 last year. Oh well, theres nothing like Bar-BQ backstraps, he was great eatin.

Around here, we have 3-season hunting. Bow Muzzle loader Shot gun
We are in the process of "upgrading" our muzzle loading to the Savage smokeless guns. The friggin gun is a 200 yard gun! More like a damn black powder rifle than a shotgun.
We have been rethinking and redesigning our layouts for stands and towers. We are just about ready to finish a 6'-0' (base) 5' x 5' tower. This tower (fully enclosed w/windows, electric, solar) will allow 150' plus view in damn near 330* (back side is not open)
I'll post a pick of the tower when done after NEXT weekend. I think I'll be making this design for ALOT of people around here. It will work on the ground and up in the air.
We have a "cabin" party every year and this year's is next weekend. Small this year, only 80-100 people. I've gotta pick up some venison from my friend(I'm out). He's giving me 35lbs. Looking like Venison meatballs from me. Tomato sauce for sandwiches and Hot and Spicy for Hors'derves. IF all goes well tonight, we may have beaver too. They have blocked up the creek that seperates the property (flooded a mile UP the road) Bastards..... Time to move them.
