got propane?? I do... on my lawn mower!! hell yea! ha ha. im kinda excited, i just got it to fire up afterhaving to leave it 85% done earlier today......
my lawn mower has been acting retarded since the grass started growing a lot this year.. went bad over sitting most of the winter ...idle was screwed up and would stall sometimes and messing with the linkages would keep it alive and then it would mess up and i would need to do the opposite of what i did last time to keep it alive, would start back up sometimes, and not other times.. stupid little carburater.. so it finally stopped and wouldn't start.. i pulled the starting string out by accident trying..
so , after borrowing lawn mowers for a while, before buying a new one..i decided to just eliminate the carb system and go with some good fuel injection.. and bio- fuel lol.. i got a mini torch from harbor freight that attatches to the small stove/ lantern bottles.. and i took some fuel line off of the 4runner in the garage.. and cut the carb in half, and attatched the fuel line with some brass fittings, and then attatched to the torch with some j b weld and a barb fitting to the fuel line... and voila! easier said then done.. it took me a couple hours.
and i just got it to fire up.. but i might need to re-do the air/fuel mixing stuff, because it wont rev too high.. and i need to figure out if it is from too little air or fuel.. because once i get to a certain rpm i can keep going on the regulator more, but it didn't make a difference in RPM.. but i can make it idle REALLY low.. i can clearly hear each time it fires... just need to do the opposite.. the fuel comes out of a pin hole, so i might need to make that bigger.. or let more air in by the carb...
that and my string is still broken.. i re-tied it, and thought it was all good, and the first time i tried to start it it wouldn't re-coil back once i pulled it... stupid crap.. but it did pull back like 3-4" of the rope, enough to get not even a 1/4 of the normal pull.. and i turned the gas up a little more and pulled it twice, fast.. and it started up..
