i just picked up a toy engine with a weber carb and header for free but im not sure what it is how do i tell.thanks david

Well since it is a carbed engine, i'm going to just guess that you have the 22r. If you give us the year and the model it might be a little easier for us to tell you rather then just trying to guess an engine...
On the engine block there should be an identifier of some sort. Like 22R; 22RE; 5VZ-FE
Carbed 4 banger is most likely a 22R.

Either a 20R or a 22R.

On the front of the Valve cover it should say 22R or 20R or maybe even 22R-E. There should be a little sticker on the front of it that tells what it is.

sorry guys its out of a 80 something 4x4. the sticker on the valve cover is gone. where on the motor would i find those numbers. thanks guys david

Your's is a 20R or 22R, RE's are EFI.
Pull the valve cover, if it's a 2 row TC it's a 79-80 20R or a 81-82 22R. Single row TC is 83+ 22R.

thanks for the help guys,(and not being pricks)like some other web sites. its a 20r the stamp on the side of the block was ground off or so far down you could not see what it said. thanks again daivd
