What should i be asking for a 1985 stock Toyota Truck with a bobbed bed (what is this) , a fresh engine and tranny (25,000 miles), spare transfer case and front and rear axles. $3000 for all or $2500 for the truck alone

I think your looking to buy this truck right? That is probably pretty good. Around here, that year truck could go from $2100 to $2800. You have to ask yourself if you need the spareparts. The transfercase on these trucks are bulletproof (in my experience). I would think twice about the axles too. This truck doesn't have the strongest drivetrain, but its fine behind the stock motor. Unless your planning some seriouse modifications, I would not buy the spare parts. A bobbed bed means the bed has been shortened. This improves the departure angle of the truck.

Totally depends on where you are. Here in the mid-atlantic area it might go for $1200, maybe up to $1500 if in really good shape. Maybe a little more if the seller wasn't in a hurry and could wait for the right buyer.
