I'm lowering my center of gavity.... does anyone out there know of anyone that might have motor mounts for droping a 22R in a '85 about 1"-2" down?
If not I can make some, just looking for something that I could put in real quicker before my next Rubicon trip and I'm pretty busy with work and stuff for the next month.

why would you want to drop the engine????your truck is supposed to go offroad not being a low rider! if you drop the engine youll be closer to the ground and drag the tranny all along, youll need a new cross memeber. the angle of the drive shafts wont do much good!

a better way to drop the center of gravity is to cut the wheel wells and fit 35``tires. thats what i did to mine! running on 35`with no lift....

Trust me, it ain't no low rider.
I'm not worried about clearance; got plenty of that with plenty to spare. Plus I'll soon I'll be going another 2"-4" higher. As for tire; 35's are what I run - for the street. I slap on a set of 38's when I go wheeling.
Besided it's already been done along with modifing the cross member.

The best way to lower your CG would be to reduce some of the lift you have, not add to it.
My 4Runner a 2" bodylift which allowed me to raise my gas tank, t-case/tranny, and exhaust up 2" to have an almost flat belly, and 4-5" of susp lift with 36" tires right now and have few problems.

My 4Runner a 2" bodylift which allowed me to raise my gas tank, t-case/tranny, and exhaust up 2" to have an almost flat belly, and 4-5" of susp lift with 36" tires right now and have few problems. I've done the same thing with mine, except for I've got a 3" body lift. The only difference is I went 3" with the tank and about 2 1/2" trans and transfer case. Mainly just to get my transmission shift lever up where it wouldn't keep ripping my shift boot. I'm getting new shifters from Marlin Crawlers to fix this.
I don't have anying problems when I'm wheeling. I was basically wanting to lower it down to see if I could feel any difference in the feel of the weight transfer when I wheeled it. With my 38's I have about 36" of clearence under my cross member. More then enough room. I guess the main reason for wanting to drop the engine down is to leave my driveline angle as close to the same as it is now when I add the new 2"-4" on the suspension lift. Call me crazy, cuz I am.......Just looking for a good high ride that wheel like.....umm....real good.
