I have a chevy v6 engine in my truck how would I find out what kind of engine it is where would some sort of identification number be located at? And where could I find out what exactly the engine is? thanks

i dunno, besides just looking wherever you can for some kinda number, if it's a number on something like the head, or other major part, that would be distinctive to one engine type only you might be able to go to a parts store and ask what the engine is for the part.
so if your stuck in fccj, i guess your from jax? im going to fccj too, and will be getting an 82 p/u in april when the fire fighting acadamy gets done. - BeNĀ²

The Buick 3.8 and the Chevy 4.3 are the most common swaps into Toyota trucks. The 4.3 has the distrib in the back and the 3.8 has it in the front.
