Is the vin number on older trucks like an 1980 different from other toyota trucks because mine doesnt have one by the windshield, but the one in the engine compartment has these numbers that are placed on top of each other and there are 17 of them, the reason I ask is because the guy i bought the truck from (car lot) issued me a temp tag that in the vin number spot he did not fill in the last seven numbers and this is making me suspicious because i cant even get my truck insured without the vin>
