i got a wrecked 97 s10 4.3l vortec. I was thinkin about puttin the engine in my old 22r, its old and aint got too many miles left on that engine, plus the thornbirds make it work more than it should. What do I need to make this conversion? I was told motor mounts, a bellhousing converter for the toyota tranny and a whole lot of elbow grease. Anyone ever do this? can the stock differentials and tranny handle the extra power?? any help would be appreciated... thx, alex

What year is your yota?? If it has a solid front axle you should be ok. But if it has ifs you might want to beef up your cv shafts. It would not be to bad of a swap. The rest of the drive train should hold up. I would use the radiator out of the s-10 fur cooling duties. I have a tweaked 305 in a 2 wd s-10 and have a rediator out of a 4.3 s-10 that had air conditioning. Cool pretty good. I would get the bellhousing adaptor unless you feel like swapping out the toys drivetrain for the chevys. A lot more work though. You would have to redo all the wiribg though. the computer etc. That might be the biggest pain in the ass for ya. Good luck.

thanks
yea my dad is an electrician so the wiring should not be too much of a pain, hell help me out. Is there anything that the computer regulates other than the engine? if so, would i have to change the way the wiring goes or what? Also, would the engine wire right up to the fusebox or what?
