ok I got an 85 yota and I want to ditch the stock 4.10's for 4.56 and I was wondering if this is just a simple swap or do I have to get any special parts to fit them in my housing?

Did you mean 4.88's? I believe you live in Wa Correct? Get ahold of ODI in Roy.. He sells the gears, install kits and sets them up for around 75 each. He's really good. Four Wheel Parts in Tacoma would have his number. I lost it, but I could tell you where he lives. Rgds, Dennis

If you are just looking to change to 4.56 gears, I would consider getting used V6 pumpkins from a wrecker which already have the 4.56 in them. A little stronger and likely a little cheaper, although coming form a wrecker you can't be sure what kind of hell they may have been through, but a inspection of the ring gear will tell if they are damaged or not. This is what I did, used e-locker with 4.56 and used v6 rear diff in the front.
