Just trying to find out if extra support is needed on an short box frame. If so, what are some good ideas?

Not sure what you mean, if you can explain better you'll get some answers.
In general, I've never seen a need to beef up a Toy frame unless it's rusted out (very common!) or behind the IFS box in x-over steering.

I guess I was rather vague. I was just wondering if there was any need to brace the frame behind the cab. Now that I think about more, there probably wouldn't be much need, seeing how the truck is so short to begin with.

;D Yeah, the Toy. frames are pretty stout. Like 4wd said, unless there's rust(or damage), the frame isn't a concern. Later...
