My dad has a 1991 Toyota 4x4 and when you go to turn the heat on it only works on the highest notch. My grandpa has a 93 Toyota 4x4 and his only works on low. I have an 82 Toyota 4x4 and mine only works on medium and high and im trying to find out whats wrong with it and how to fix it. I dont know of anybody else whos had this problem but there arent very many people around here with Toyotas either. I dont think this matter but the 91 and 93 both have the V6 mine has the 22R.

The problem in all 3 is the fan speed resistor packs. It's a common problem in Toyotas, one or more of the resistors open, and that speed stops working. The resistor pack is a small module located in the ductwork near the heater core on the passenger side I think. Look for wires/connector that goes into the ducts. When you pull it out the resistors look like coils of wire.
