Can any reccomend a good aftermarket carb for an 82 22r? If you can, please tell me if you have used it and if you noticed any performance gains. thanks!

Only thing i can think of is Weber, but then again i don't know much about these engines yet.

:)Try the Weber Street Lethal carb, my mechanic recommends them as a replacement to the AISIN and my bud has one on his (22R) truck and it kicks a$$...smooth and responsive.  |

I have a Weber carb on my 81 22R. there is hardly any emmissions on it now. my truck was originally made for California, so it had a ton of emmisions and vaccum lines in it. But with my new carb that crap is all gone now. it can be a little confusing getting all that stuff out when you swap carbs.
I have an adapter onto my stock manifold at the momment, but I'll have my offenhauser dual port intake mainfold on soon, along with my header. right now though, I don't see a huge gain in power, however there is definitely a difference. It does have more power but not a lot. the header and dual port with the weber should make a big difference though.
The Weber is suppose to give you more power and better gas mileage. I noticed a little bit more power but gas mileage seems to be about the same (20).
The main reason I got the weber was because my stock carb was shot. If your carb is in good condition, I'm not intirely sure the weber is worth the money.

Where can you get the Weber and adapter....my carb is shot and I need a new one.

look at northwestoffroad.com for weber carbs (they might have adapters).

Summit or Jegs or similar hi-po places carry Webers, and at better prices than NWOR, Downey, etc.
