Ok, ive got a question. I am not going to be doing an engine swap right now, but have been looking into what it would cost if my engine ever decides to call it quites (or I get the money together...) I have heard that the toyota tranny and axles can take the power from a 350, but for some reason I am skepticle. I mean, if an axle or tranny can handle the power why would they stick a little 4 banger in the truck, or on the other hand why build such a tough axle/tranny. If anyone is running the toy axles or tranny with a 350 I would like to know how they handle the power?
Do you break anything that often?
Can the front axle handle the power? (heard they cant handle as much as the rear)
Can you actually burry the pedle and use the power when needed, or do you need to drive a little more conservitevly?
Any thought or information on the subject to unconfuse me would be greatly appreciated. If they can handle the power thats great, but if not I dont want to go and buy gears, lockers, and so forth for the toy axles, or rebuild my tranny, or yada yada if I need to swap them out later...

Im not sure on the toy trucks, my father in law has a 75 FJ 40 with a 383 Stroker in it, all he has done is bought an adapter to go to the toy tranny, he has toy tranny, axles, transfer case, toy everything cept engine.
He romps on it like crazy too says only thing he has broken was one time he shattered a front hub.

The t-case and axles will handle the power if you don't go crazy. The weak link is the Toyota manual tranny, depending on the year. You can swap in a TH350 or 700R4 to fix that.
