over the summer i was able to get a free set of axles of an older toy p/u. at the time i didn't bother to ask what year it is was, and now its been crushed. is there a way to tell what year it was. the truck looked exactly like this one.

I've never seen a date code on any of the front or rear axles I've rebuilt, but i do know that the less gussetting on the front axle, the older it is. 84-85 have the most, 83 less, ...
I still like the 1st gen body lines the best.

the body style is between 79-83, and since it has the square headlights, it's either an 82 or an 83. (earlier had the round headlights)

I would say 83, 80 and 81 had round headlights, 84 went away from the ROUNDED looking fenders.
