I recently wrecked my 81 toyota (22R) going about 40 mph into a ditch, hitting a colvert and flipping up onto the roof with a quarter turn to follow. Ending up facing the way I came from! I now have a bit of a bent frame and a folded leaf spring in the front passenger side. I dont care too much about that part. Its the major oil leak that I cant figure out. It is leaking from about 10" under the carb. on the left side. I hoped it was a jared head gasket but my friends tell me it would leak more water than oil, is this true? If its not a broken gasket is a cracked block a possibility? I had to leave to go to college before I had much time to really dig into it. Im going back for a break and want to have some ideas in my head of how to fix it. Thanks in advance for any help you might have..

The head gasket would probably leak more coolant than anything. The block would leak the oil if cracked but you would probably notice something is wrong when running the engine. Whatever the problem sounds like you would need to do some good investigation. Good luck man.

Thanks for the input, but I'm a dipshit-- on easter I went home and I determined its where the oil gauge line mounts into the block, the little tubbing just broke off and it spurts oil out all over the place. So I'm glad I'm stupid and it was just something small thats cheap and easy. I also found out just how bent my frame is though and it might be a bigger job than I planned. Everything on the passenger side is about 4" behind the drivers side. Thanks for the guidance--
