Hey guys, just wanted to let you all know that I found a 1980 Longbed for sale in my neighborhood. I didn't check it out very well, but aside from the usual body cancer around the bed, it appears to be in decent condition. Interior looks pretty good for an '80. I have no idea how it runs, but the sign says that it has 145k miles on it.
The guys wants $1750 for it (seems a bit high to me). If you would like the info - let me know. I'll help you get in touch with him.
BTW... I am not posting this in For Sale, as it is not my vehicle. I'm just passing the info along.

Maybe not that high, id say it depends on the mods... I've noticed that sence I bought my 85 the price for them and other toyotas with a solid front axle have been steadely climbing in price... I think most people that have them might not be selling them because they want them for that reason... So with less out there for sale in good conditon, they will slowly be sold for more Just my 2cp, but makes sence to me

Well,
1) I'm cheap.
2) I paid $800 for an 84 SR5 4Runner and a buddy paid $600 for an 84 p/u, and that was almost 2 yrs ago. Both 4 yrs newer, solid axle, running, and minimal rust.
I still say $1750 is too much, but I'm not saying the owner won't get it.

I see what you are saying. I only payed 1k for my 85, and it had only 2 tiny spots of rust on the bed (1inx1in maybe) and was completely stock except for the seats. This actually seemed a plus to me.... For some reason in my mind a stock rig has been trashed on less than a lifted rig with some nice tires n such, but meh, what do I know about how people use their trucks.... I probably wouldnt pay over 800 for it if I wanted it though, and my dad sold a 80 for 150, so, I can see both sides of it ;D To each His own

This one looks stock. I would say there was nothing done to it just by looks.
Fourwd1, I am cheap too.
I figured if I offered him $500 that would be the best he would see... but I just don't have the time or $$ to put into a project truck... but I sure would love to.

Im asking $2000 for mine.... guess people don't realize how much money we really put into our rigs.... That's what people don't realize when selling their vehicle, it's not usually worth what people think it is. It's usually a "well it's my car/truck and I like it so it's worth $$$" when in reality it's only worth $$. You aren't going to get out of it all the money you put into it, unless you can find the right buyer. If you put new tires and a new battery in your car before you try to sell it you can't expect to recoup that money. It's just money you have to spend to make it sellable.
