Anyone know what the difference is between a w55 tranny and a w56. My 85 runner has a W56 while my 86 has w55. The w55 is a new one from toyota dealer.------Don't worry i did't buy from dealer. Came with truck when i bought it with 2km on it. Put engine from rolled 85 in 86. 85 has 32" bfg mudders. 86 has 31" pro comp mudders. 85 felt like it had more power. Is gearing different?
