Is there anyway to distinguish between 81-83 2wd and 4wd 22r engines? I have a 1982 4wd but the previous owner put in a 22r from a junk yard. I am going to buy a set of headers from LC Engineering but need the engine info. Thanks

I've never noticed any major difference between 2WD/4WD truck engines, but there are differences in oil pan and exhaust manifold, if the engine is in a car.

I guess thats my question then, what are the differences in the exhaust manifolds/emissions air pipe. I know the 81 2wd has the emissions air pipe coming out of the top of the manifold.
