i think its running in this picture, i didnt drive it much since it only has like the downpipe on it and no other exaust, but i can say it kicks ass, when the turbo kicked in the front end jumped up an shiznit, i almost creamed in my pants, and the turbo sounds about like a freakin peterbuilt goin down the road, its loud, im runnin 7psi right now, hopin to run about 10 when i get it where i want it. www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid121/pf55e8c5814ce4eadfdf34c6910c31715/f848169c.jpg [/img]

thought id update on this, well i havent done much to it since i took those pics, i ended up having to drive it to work a couple days last week, and when on the freeway and going about 60, it would cut out and there was a jerking feeling, then after it sat for 8 hours and i tried to start it, it would just crank and crank, start then die crank some more and finally start. i did however notice a major increase in power, theres an uphill stretch on my way to work that i use to barely be able to go 60mph up, now i can do it going 70 and still increaseing in speed. i also got exaust put on it so now the turbo isnt near as loud, but still noticeable. today i decided to mess with it and adjusted the timing and it seems to run way better now.as for how much HP i gained, well the stock 22rte's are suppose to have 140hp, and i do notice a huge gain in performance but i dont think i can come up with a number.im gonna be workin on it tomorrow, hopefully work out a few more bugs, and im also gonna throw some 33's on to see how it looks and how it performs with larger tires.

Sounds like your running out of fuel. Make sure you have a new fuel filter. Are you sure your fuel pump can deliver the needed fuel? If its a fuel related issue you could toast a piston if you lean out too much. You should have close to 200hp when you get things worked out......btw how much was the kit ?

i paid $1546 dollars for the kit, that includes the turbo, oil lines, 2 water lines, the downpipe and the O2 sensor, you have to re-use the intake tubes from a 22rte, and you have to cut the metal intake tube near the bend toward the throttle body as you can see its the blue thing on the pipe with clamps in the pictures. i doubt its getting too little fuel, i think its actually getting too much, the check engine light also stays on constantly, i pulled the codes and got a 3, 7 and 14, one of those is the tps which i think is whats causing me the most of my troubles.i put my 33's on today and it still pulls pretty good, there is a noticeable loss but its still way better than when i had a stock 22re and 30" tires, the next big step is a 5spd, but i dont see it happening in the near future.

a little update to this swap. if you happen to do this to your truck and you have an auto tranny, the connector that goes from the engine harness to the transfer case is different from 85 to 86, i was trying to run over my subaru today and when i went to put it into 4x4 nothing happened. its hard to explain what im taking about without a picture but the connector coming off the engine harness is square and blue and has 5 wires going to it, the connector coming off of the transmission is white triangular and has 3 wires on it. luckily i still have the turbo tranny from the 86 so i cut the corresponding blue connector off of it and spliced it into the 3 wires that were coming off of the tranny in my runner, you just have to match the colors of the wires.if you dont have the tranny out of an 86 when doing this swap youll just have to hard wire the right wires together.anyway ill get some pictures of all this tomorrow or somthing if anyone cares.
