I have an 82 p/u, so i have leaf springs in the front as well as the back. And at the autoparts store teh other day, a friend was looking at some lift blocks for his cherokee's rear sag, and the idea of why not just put them in the front and back of my rig and get 1-3" of lift for like 50-60 $$. So being unsure why i hadn't heard of it before if it would be so easy/cheap for lift i asked a clerk at an offroad store why not to do it, and all he said was that it was 1) illegal and 2) not safe on the front end because of the steering.. and failed to explain much more then that. so a little more explanation would help me out, and hopefully a way to use the blocks in a safe way would be cool too.- BeN

NO, no, no, no no. Do not put blocks on the front. Blocks can cause spring wrap, and that will make your steering squirrelly. And do not remove the torque rod on your front axle, Toyota put it there for the same reason, spring wrap. Without it spring wrap while braking while cause your truck to veer to the right.
I don't think blocks are a great idea for the rear either, but sometimes a 1 or 2" block is necessary.
