I have an '85 4x4 standard cab / bed...
It has stock rims on it, will those hold onto 33x10.50 tires?

The original manual says 15 x 6-jj but I'm having a hard time believing they are 6"...
From what I've gathered I need at least 15x8

Yes they are 6", and yes you can get away with a 10.50 wide tire on a 6" wide rim.
I run 36-12.50's on 8" rims, it's a poor man's bead lock. ;D

It should be fine with a 10.5" wide tire. I run 12.5" wide tires on 7" wide rims.

i agree the tires will fit , and being the rims are skinny the 10.50 will ballon and make the the tire a little taller . the only question is, is there any lift to clear them ?

Cleared out my uncle-in-laws shop last night (father-in-laws brother, you do the wording hahah) gonna start tonight and hopefully finish tomorow. Haven't ever put on in before so we'll see how it goes.

(yea, I know gimme a hard time for my *crappy* tires, but I couldn't beat the prices, got them for $80 a piece from a friend of a friend of a friend from Miami (I'm not asking any questions)

WOW, i really like the look of a 33x10.5, it really complements the lines and size of the truck. i don't always like super wide tires on a narrow truck

yea, I'm really happy with how it looks, found a little mudhole tonight... was about 15-20" deep in mud and around a corner so I was a bit nervous but figured what the heck, dropped in and sunk, but hammered down and she pulled right thru.. scared me enough not to do it again until I can save up for a wench or get some friends for tugging me out...
I sure hate being in a new town.

yep, and then when you finally do meet people to go wheeling with they usually want you to go a hard as you can, through a hole they know you can't make, the whole time yelling you can make it.
