When is someone going to make a cable operated locker for the toyota 8" I don't know why they haven't done it yet . it would be so simple, just drill a hole in the dif like the ARB and have the cable run through. It would be way cheaper then ARB and still be selectable.

I can't find one for the toyota 8". They are all for the dana series axles. I hope someone makes one soon.

elockers may be great, but with elecronics you can loose ground, wires can get cut, water can short things out, and 85 and earlier toyotas dont have stock elockers I'm not dising the elocker, just saying everything has its ups and downs

All the aftermarket cable lockers use a mechanism mounted in the replacement diff cover. This is why they will never be available for the toyota drop out third.
You can convert a factory toyota electric locker to cable activated.

Though with some modification you can mount an e-locker in any toyota 8" diff housing. I used my stock 90 rear housing. The electric side of things does have its ups and downs. Mine has failed twice, once while locked, once while unlocked. Better that it fail locked.

True dat! I think at the time I just put 85 because the thread is in the 85 and earlier section Sean, what were the reason(s) for your e-locker failing?

First time a relay burnt out. Second time it was/is (still hasn't been fixed) something with the motor itself. When it is working it is the best, when it fails sucks ass. I have contemplating the cable conversion but many people had problems with fitament of the Downey kit.
