Has anybody ran a steering front axle in the rear of their truck?

i don't think that would work because to make the third member face the correct way towards the transfercase you would have to flip the axle around, which would make it runn in reverse

Which is why they make "reverse cut" gears. people run stearing alxes in the rear all the time. Have they ever put a toyota in the rear? cant say ive seen that done before

Yes you can put a toy steering axle in the rear. But you will have to modify the housing to accept the third member upside down. Did that on a full tube samurai with toy axles. Only drawback is that the gears were not designed to run this way. Lots of HP would tear the ring and pinion to pieces as they are pushing away from each other as the vehicle is moving forward. On a light rig like a sammy with low hp it seems to work well. Rgds, Dennis DEEZKNUTZ OFFROAD

No, the housing does not need to be turned upside down or reversed or anything such. Keep in mind that both diffs are identical as it is. It will work except that you will need to inboard the springs on the frame. You will also need to deal with the offest diff. Then there is the whole birfield issue, you're gonna be breaking lots of them in the rear.

It really depends on the application. Meaning: The direction the t-case turns. On a Samurai, It will need to have the 3rd member turned upside down. Rgds, Dennis
