i'm hopfully getting a late modle 83 and i wont to do everything right or i know i will be spending more time fixing it than i will be working on it. we hardly ever spend time on the rocks butt when we do it uslally pretty rough. But were almost allways in the mud or snow. i just didn't know wether to spend the time and build 3 or 4 link front and rear or run spring and if i do 3 or 4 link wich for the front and rich for the rear. then for tires i was thinken 35/14.50 boggers with 4:88 gears arb rear locker and ox cable locker in the front.

I pretty sure you would be very impressed if you just went to a long travel leaf spring setup. However, if $ is no object, go for the link setup. Sounds like your putting out some $ for the tires and lockers.

no $ money will be a problem but im going to start working at the local muffler shop and just keep geting things piece by piece &hopefully i can do most of the fabricating myself. but thanks and i guess i will probly go with leafs and hopefully they work allright for the rare times when we do go to the rocks.

Sorry, I'm still trying to understand what a "late model 83" is.
24 yrs old is not what I'd call a "late model" vehicle.

after build date 8/1983 the wiring harness is alittle diff other than than I see no other diffys.. I learned that on my little crusade.they only used that harness for a year..and from wht O understamd the build date cureve was some what different back then , I think most imports posted the year from the 12th month to the 12th instead of 8 to 8 like they do now.....not my opion someone told me that..

some guy at the local napa had told me that 83s that were built after august were diferent but but he din't remeber what it was thats why i said late modle 83

OK, makes more sense now, in context.
Back to your original post, if "we hardly ever spend time on the rocks ... But were almost allways in the mud or snow. ", building a linked front and/or rear seems un-necessary. You don't need that kind of articulation in mud or snow, it would go to waste.

late 83=different wiring harness they only used it till 8 of 1984.
from august83-august 84..
