Does anyone elses truck ride like a log wagon? My 84 rides ruff, I couldnt put a cd player in it if I wanted to. Its a stiff bouncey ride. Need to rework the springs or somthing.

My 83 used to ride like it didn't have a suspension. After I put on the 4in long travel front end then took out a couple of leafs in the back with blocks now, it rides much better. I used to have some cheapo front lift kit though, it wasn't factory. The rear springs were factory and still unfortunately are although it won't be like that for long. I also switched to long travel Bilstein 5150's for the front with shock hoops. I've heard that those chevy 63" springs flex pretty good, you would know from your other truck. Switch out some leaf's or remove the load leaf front and back and see what happens, that made all the difference in the world for me for my first setup.

It looks now like the truck has add a leafs in the rear but the front springs look stock. If I try and puch down on the rear of the truck it only wiggles. I dont think it has any lift, but there is 8'' of room between the tire and fender with 31's. Maybe removing the load leaf would be the way to go?? I still want to be ablel to haul some weight in it though. My truck in the pic is the 86' it rides smooth even with blown shocks.

My beast doesn't ride smooth at all and it has all stock suspension. I hope I can make the 91 I'm building ride nice and smooth. I don't know if shocks would help on my 82 or not as the front springs are pretty much shot. And the back ones are flat. But yea mine rides like our D7 cat does haha.

Im 85 rode like sh*t with the leafs that were on it. They were stock and looked to have an add a leaf in the front packs. Plus the shocks were to short for the lift it had. So when you ran over a piece of pine straw you felt it. I have driven it to work and have actually came up off the seat hitting bumps. But now I have stock length 5" all pro springs in front and its a major improvment without shocks. The rear springs are wore out so it rides good.

well you cant really expect a truck with front and rear leafs to ride like a honda.
I too found my new CD player to be almost useless unless im on a straight stretch of road with no bumps.

My sas truck rides smooth to, with the chevy springs and the rears on the front. But its soon not to be my daily driver anymore . I get lots of looks in it. still runs descent. I have patched the frame manny times and she is just getting old,(needs another timing chain). The new truck will ride smooth when I get sone with it.
