i want to switch to synthetic oil and i was wondering if anybody is running it or has switched and did it work out or ........what

I wouldnt recommed it. I have seen motors rum way over 300,000 mi on cenventional oil. I dont see any perks in it besides costing twice as much. My father-in-laws Freightliner had over a million miles on it when he sold it 4 years ago and its still on the road. It only seen normal oil, and has never been rebuilt.

ok, I learned this years ago when I worked at a dealer.....Syn oil...hmm....ok most brag about teflon that adheres to your metal moving parts...It takes about 1500 hundred degrees before teflon will stick to metal..If your truck is 1500 hundred you got bigger issues than that.. i see no need in the extra expense..run good quality oil and change it regular....my 15 cents worth....take care.. this is what my shop teacher told us
under high stress racing situations synthetic oil will protect better, but for just everyday driving there is virtually no difference. also, if your engine is prone to leaking, adding synthetic oil is only going to make the leak worse
