I plan on buying or making some plates to move my front axle forward, or I could just drill my spring mounts. I also intend on buying or making an adjustable torque rod.
I am unsure of how all this will effect my steering, I am thinking it will reduce lock to one side, could I shorten the drag link? or should I add more lift to take up some of the length?
My ride is a 84 4Runner with 2.5" spring lift, everything else is stock. I need to fit my new 35" tyres on, so I thought moving the axle forward would reduce the need to cut so much off the fender.

How much do you plan on moving it forward?
It will need to be 3" to do what you want. But you can't get that much doing it the way you plan. And 2.5" of lift isn't going to help, a little more would be better to clear 35's.

I have managed to cut the fenders nice and neat along with bashed the @#$% out of the firewall, and they now fit without rubbing the body, but they still rub on the leaf springs! I have added a piece of metal to the steering stop to help avoid rubbing at articulation but it still rubs when at full lock on the flat, just something I will have to learn to avoid.

Some wheels with a different offset or some wheel spacers may help with the leaf spring rub issue.
