hey fellas and girls(hopefully), I just bought an 85' pickup and it runs, but not very well. So I'm looking for advice on what to look for to improve the condition. Compression is good, but it smokes blue. It's missing and seems to run better without a load on it. For example, when I rev it up in neutral versus driving it. Anyway, just letting ya'll know what my new project is and maybe I'll get some ideas thrown my direction. Take care

How about a complete tune up, and it may be time for a carb rebuild.

It's EFI...and compression is 110-115 in all 4. The manual calls for 171 so it's a bit low. I'm going to get a rebuild kit and tackle it that way. I'm really looking forward to this truck, so I'm anxious to get it going!

You said it! Who is going to the MC Roundup? I'll be there wheeling the 85' for the first time Ohh, does anyone know the wiring order for the rear lights on an 85? I'm not sure which colors are which lights. For example does black/white=brakes, green=turn signal, yellow= emergency flashers and so on....
